The French creative agency Murmure created this set of concrete business cards as an experiment with scale. They took on of the most common materials used on a large scale and reduced it down to one of the smallest forms of business communication. See more great work at their site www.murmure.me

Free Font Friday 4/27/2012: I recently stumbled upon Tack-o-rama while looking for a Steampunk font. It is well-organized site of free retro design resources that includes art, photos and fonts. For the past three years the Toronto’s Rotman School of Management has pitted design students against MBA students in the Rotman Design Challenge. This week I questioned my judgment in choosing an affordable CMS for a client. The three main contenders out there when I made my original decision were WordPress 2.7, Joomla, and Drupal 6. There are several others that I have worked with for special projects, which I will discuss briefly later. But when it comes down to it, those are the big three. More

This video is part of the Freelancers Union (I’m a member) Freelance Payment Protection Act to make it a crime to not pay freelancers. We need laws like these in every state, not just NY. This is one of the most ingenious forms of letterpress I’ve found – Letterpressed T-shirts. They are individually produced and numbered in limited quantities by a boutique in Italy called Letterdress (a visual pun created by flipping the uppercase P in LetterPress). The site is available in English and ordering is easy through PayPal. Click here to visit their site.
